So I've done a quick calculation with the TRD 18" Rims the recommended tyres are: 225/40/18 and compared to the stock 205/50/16 the rolling diameter difference would be 5.3mm so no big issue at all.

Are you sure about that?

http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

205/50R16 Tire diameter 612 mm (24.1'')
225/40R18 Tire diameter 637 mm (25.1'')
25 mm (4.1%) taller.

I have
225/35R18 Tire diameter 615 mm (24.2'')
3 mm (0.5%) taller.

215/35R18 Tire diameter 607 mm (23.9'')
5 mm (0.8%) shorter.

215/40R18 Tire diameter 629 mm (24.8'')
17 mm (2.8%) taller.

So yeh I've found it quite hard to find a decent quality tyre that isn't big $$$$ in a size to suit us.

NEED A REPLY ASAP PREFERABLY FROM NOOGSTAR OR SOMEONE WITH EXPIERENCE!

I want some rota grids here is the best fitment I can find to your perfect formula -

17x8 +44 5x100

Will that +44 do much? I'm terrible when it comes to wheels so give me a hand >.<

Rota's only come in +44 for the 5x100 in 17" so yeah it's my only option...
Let me know ASAP as I'm buying before Christmas!!

that size will be sunk, but will fit in the celica

im using X9+35 and it is still sunk a bit at rear, and poke at front at stock guard.

this size stick out 22mm more than the X8 +44

If you are on budget, try varrostein..they got te37 design, 5x100, with low offset

So 9" tyres with +35 offset is really a good fit when you just roll the front guards so they don't poke?

Are you lowered? You will need to be 1" from guards and you will need to roll your guards front and rear. You will also need ~2 deg camber front and back. If you follow that it will fit. Guys who say they poke are not running camber and or still pretty 4WD/conservative with their height.

Those specs are still conservative IMHO. It will still be 19mm more in the guards than my wheels. Which is heaps. But you will still have better fitment than 9/10 Celica owners. Go for it.

Yes I'm lowered on BC coil overs, so that's an easy fix. As for guards ill get them rolled professionally, camber, I'm pretty sure I'm sitting at 1.5 degree on the rear.

Thanks noog!!

Know any wheel distributors in the AUS?
Mine has shut down, went to order last week and its erase from the net email and all...all local brisbane distributors can only get 18" wheels and 5x114 in the wheels I'm after

17X9+25 (rear) with 2 degree all around, front could use less camber

if the roll was flat + less camber, it will look more aggressive.

i hope you know what i mean by the foll being flat or not ><

So what's the offset on the front? Same width tyres? Not running spacers or anything?

Hey guys...

I sorta understand this offset business... trying to work out if 17x8.5 30+ will fit without having any difficulties?

And will 215/45/17 tyres fit those rims ok?

Thanks

Thank you! I'm trying to source a design like this locally here but can't seem to find any. These guys are cheap but the shipping cost more than the rims which puts it around the $1200-1300 range. They do these in a 17x8x5 +30

JNC005-18x9-SIL1-600x600.jpg

the rears will be fine, the front might poke a little

So you think I will have to roll my front guards?

Poke 43.6mm 78mm

Inset 121.6mm 138mm

Does that mean it will be ok?

ahhh... saw the diagram on the right. So do you just measure 34.4mm from the stock rim to see if it will clear the guards?

225/45 tyres

Your ride looks nice! I would like to see your wheels in the silver finish, contrast to the colour of the car!

Personally, I think 17x8 +35 is perfect. No need for spacers.

Hey guys I've got a 2000 SX I'm looking to put 18x8.5 +35 rims on. Would probably put 225-235/35/18R wheels. Would I need to mod anything to fit them?

Also, It's currently lowered but not sure how much, but planning to put a duraflex bomber kit on and redo the suspension then anyway so suggestions on suspension will be adjusted with that in mind later. Thanks

Youll need to roll your rear guards if you get 18s with a 235 sizing

probably will need to roll them with 225 as well

i rolled them with 17s and 235 tyres

plus run a little camber at the front to avoid scrubbing (-1.5 degrees)
