st505 gear selector cables in to st185?

st505 gear selector cables in to st185? i know they are longer(st205) and the joint is smaller to the shifter, but can i get around this by swapping the st205 shifter insead? thanks
MY GT-Four: 'Aus delivered St185 GT-Four GRP A widebody.

ENGINE: ST205 WRC GRP A engine, CT20B steel wheel turbo , ARP headstuds TURBO XS boost controller , PWR wta heat exchanger , SPEEDSOUCE solid engine mounts , GREDDY type s bov , ST205 WTA intercooler , GREDDY catch can , GREDDY rad / wta overflow bottle, SPARCO radiator hose's , Carbon fibre cooling panel , BOSCH 040 intank pump , ADAPTRONIC E420C ECU.

HANDLING: MEGAN RACING 32 way Coilovers , CUSCO front strut brace ,CUSCO rear strut brace , WHITELINE rear sway bar , NOLATHANE bushes throughout , MEGAN RACING camber kit , BRASS shifter bushings , TWM short shifter , TEGIWA Engine torque damper.

DRIVELINE: St205 gearbox , SPEEDSOURCE rear diff mount.

EXHAUST: 3" MANDREL bent exhaust, Straight through cat, Resonators removed APEXI N1 exhaust, MANDREL catless dump pipe.

BRAKING: ST205 Brakes, RDA slotted rotors, APP braided lines, ENDLESS pads.

WHEELS: WORK Emotion CR Kai wrapped in nankang tyres, 5ZIGEN wheel nuts.

EXTERIOR: Group A replica Front bar, Red calipers with celica in alloy, Clear front Indicators, Custom headlight conversion projector, HID 6000k. 2x Aluminium front diffusers, 4x Aluminium rear diffusers, Sleepy eye kit, Front and rear BENEN tow hooks, Carbon fibre cai BILLION funnels, Clear indicators front/sides, Late series tail lights, SPARCO hood pin kit, GALLARDO side mirrors,

When mine went bust I used selector cables from a 184 exact same size and movement the only difference was the the part of the selector cable that clips onto the gearbox. This was about 3-4mm too short so I just used a washer and now it works perfect :) its an absolute B!t@# of a job to do with the engine still in

Thread Revival ..... Anyone know were to the get the ST185 selector cable from ....

I may as well do this as 2nd, 4th and Reverse in mine have been a bitch since I got Madame GT-Four in 2010.

i don't think I have ever seen them new, other than toyota and custom made. i would have a preference for new given how much of a pita it has been. I've done 2 sets now in different cars

In most cases for new, you are looking at around $400-$600 depending on where you get them.
