Just putting this out to anyone who might know....

Is there some sort of list that shows of the #77 aus delivered gt4s, break down into how many of each colour, sunroof, 'factory upgrades' released?

I've heard theres 11 or 17 with sunroofs but i want to know things like how many black ones are there...how many white ones etc

I looked at one ....must have been 18mths ago a white one and the bloke I spoke to about it said it had been 'factory tuned' (from original purchase) to 225kw? Has anyone heard anything like this?

Also is there a weight difference between the sunroof celicas and no sunroof? whats the weight difference?

call it curiosity but I gotta...wanna know this shit.

Cheers to anyone who can help :)

Internet conversation states 5 of the 77 originally brought to Australia were sold in New Zealand, one of those five was recently imported back into Australia as a personal import. I believe the only colours available in the Australian delivered ST2052 were:

Renaissance Red (3L2)
Super White (040)
Baltic Blue (752)
Lucerne Silver (199)

Other markets received other colours too (I have a factory black (202) JDM WRC ST205 personally).

As for factory tuning - a Toyota dealership will do anything if you are happy to pay the bill at the end of the day, but I have not heard of a factory upgrade offered for the ST205 by dealerships.

The weight difference will be negligible between sunroofs and lack of, though you will lose head clearance in a ST205 with a sunroof - how tall are you?!

Clint is on the money.
I have one of the Aus delivered 205's, mine is silver with a sunroof, I've also heard that 17 came with a sunroof but who knows, about 20kgs I would say the stuff weighs.

You loose about 60mm of headroom having a sunroof, which doesn't worry me because I'm short.

And I'm the guy who has one of the 5 new Zealand group a's sold in nz and the one who imported it back . They don't have the limited plate , but are identical otherwise. Mine was factory fitted with a seiner diode mod , as we're all the nz group a's to compensate for the shitty fuel they have. Mine had a cloth only interior but it did have factory recaro sr2s . These were go e when I bought it but I found another set out of Japan . The other red group a in nz owned by my friend has the full recaro interior now and the 3 speaker door adds and a sunroof . It's quite cool , but the rest of the car is now heavily modified and no longer has matching numbers engine.

Now comes the fun part . My vin number is recognised by Toyota Australia , but there are conflicting stories on the new Zealand 5.

I've spoke. To everyone from Neil hates , to managing directors of toy o. And toy nz , and I can't get. Straight answer if mine is one of the 77.

They have Aussie vins , the press release I obtained for the nz launch is the Aussie press release , no o es around at either country an certify where the 5 came from , nor if they went to oz first .

I've also talked to Toyota about an owners registry and none exists of the 77 oz ones , yet there is for the 185's . Wierd huh . Till I'm proven otherwise , my group a is an Aussie now , and while she might not have a badge , she still has seen more world and more Motorsport than most if the 77 that stayed in oz .

She's mine , shes the real deal and that's all that matters !

As a side note , mine was the Toyota new Zealand show car used at all the motorshows next to the single jza80 factory delivered into nz , has participated in targa nz , and has been booked doing over 160 kmh in the hands of a ex wrc driver from Japan on the way to the ski fields ! She was a bad girl in her early days ! Haha !

Bit late on the uptake here, but I've got an Aus delivered 205. #28, Baltic Blue, with sunroof to be exact.

Oh and one of the previous owners has souvenired the build plate from the interier.
If anyone knows who has it i'm willing to pay good money to get it back, as Toyota can't or won't replace it :(

Toyota Australia had two of each plate made, the first plate was fixed to the cars sold, the second is held by them. Provided the second plate has not already been issued, you can request the replacement plate once you provide your vehicle's information.

Thanks for the info Clint,
I tried it a few years back to get one, and proved i owned the car to toyota and all, but didnt get a positive reply. That would have been about 5 years ago now though, might have to give it another shot when i get back to Sydney

I got mine in that way, provided evidence of ownership, vin numbers etc and they mailed it to me free of charge, the dude who had it before me wanted to keep it, scum.

This was 8 years ago though, just after I bought it.

Hi Guys, I know this is an old post, but after 2 years of searching I have finally found and purchased an Aussie ST205.

Has anyone found or started to make a list of the 77 that came to Aus?

Since I have been looking around I have kept a record of any I have seen for sale or mentioned on the web etc, which so far is only 8! have been taking note of build no, colour, sunroof, condition/kms/mods, location and price if for sale.

If anyone has any info they would be willing to share that I can add to my list, I would be happy to swap for a copy of what I have already.

Cheers

Steve.

Slightly off topic though I have a personal import 205 originally JDM. As well as the 77 WRC's does anyone have any idea of how many others there are registered in Australia? Am I the only one with a non-WRC PI? I wouldn't expect for there to be too many personal imports. Can you get grey imports and register them? I haven't seen any.
