far out selling it after getting it built is a huge loss.

After reading this, I am thinking of changing the turbo since the engine will be out for the clutch and gasket/seals etc

the gtx disco spud is brilliant

If it was up to me id be keeping it no doubt, but its not a perfect world.

I'd like to keep it for a little bit and really enjoy i and get out on some cruises, im just pretty burnt up about all of it so far. i know when i get behind the wheel and drive it again and tune it it'll be worth while

i think you would get more money out of it if you left it as is or even convert back to stock settings.

each to their own

Well ive almost got the car back...

its only been over a year

3k quote for rebuild

7k charged

Im thinking i will be selling it after i rego it and enjoy a cruise or two

Im staying with the ct26 unless its dead or i feel like buying a gtx2860

also anyone know how to drain the fuel tank?

i don't know if it would work, but what if you took the fuel sender out ( under the hatch carpet) and siphoned it out from there???

Cheers dom, I think thats the plan

Im leaving the CT26 in there for now

I can occasionally get it to idle but then it stalls, im installing the wideband today and putting fresh fuel in there and giving it a proper tune today and hopefully ill have some good news to report

Hey guys

Bit of a thread revival. I was considering a gtx2860 but what do you think of this upgrade?

Used his gear before and I rate it highly

Its just a machined housing and replacement wheel.

Good chance you will need a turbo balance with that kit, plus extra turbo lag due to larger heavier compressor wheel

Gtx running gear in a ct20b seems like a good stock location turbo. Exhaust chokes it but

ADM ST185 running Gen 3 3SGTE with GTX2867, Haltech PS1000, Racepak dash, Wilwood 330mm four piston fronts. work CR Kais 17-8. full 3" exhaust. FMIC.

Yep i totally agree, it gives you a nice response feel, if you a boost lover it will allow you to wind up more boost but it also connects to the stock exhaust system as stock is 2.75inch and the 3inch flange bolts straight up.

A GTX-28 should be able to net 200kW on 98RON, E85 is probably not even necessary.

I was getting 170 fwkw with the standard 1st gen ct26 when it was in my camry.  That had a FMIC and 650cc injectors.  Around 5500rpm it topped out.

I had it highflowed and it did 200fwkw on the same setup at around 16psi.  Same rpm level.

Exactly what is a high flow

A bigger comp wheel/housing?

The path between the turbine inlet and the turbine wheel is where the real restriction is, think of it as the "throat size" and u cant flow more than a certain amount thought that passage no matter what wheels you stick on or what CHRA core you have

Thats what ive been lead to believe. so why do people put bigger comp wheels/housings on if the turbine side is the problem?

Some people enjoy the extra lag :P

Seriously tho you will notice a little more power for the same boost level with a larger compressor wheel but you pay for it with lag down low and if the compressor wheel is too big you don't use it to its full potential because the turbine side is now your restriction.....it needs to be a balanced ratio of size which is what the manufacturer spends crap loads on.

Money is better spend on a larger turbo like a GT28 or GT30

With turbo's its not really the HP goal you should focus on unless you have a dyno queen.....

You may want 400hp and you may have the turbo and mods to get there but if its a daily on the streets u will very rarely see that power and u will have a slow crappy laggy car to drive everywhere and even a Hyundai excel will beat you off the line.

My cheap ass eBay special that I modified is working just fine. It is correctly braced and I used quality studs and nuts to hold it on.
