The Caldina manual uses the E150F gearbox that also the st185 uses. The st205 will be a upgrade because it uses dual cone synchros, the case nr is E154f. And the ratios is the same for st-185, st-205 and st-215. The st215 has alot of partsnr different from other Toyotas even if its the same part. the back endlings is the same as the Lexus 300, Front brake calipers is for the Avensis 2003 here in europe. What i would love is a higher 5 gear for speed driving.

Hi Brendan,

We are actually running a special on these at the moment.

A full 5 speed dog kit with final drive and billet selector forks is normally $11,995 + gst and shipping. Currently I can do it for $6,500 + gst and $75 shipped anywhere in Australia!!!!

Apparently they haven't.

Lexus have some [apparently] nice automatics that are tailored to track work in the RC-F.

"The RC F offers even more go-fast goodies, including upgraded six-piston Brembo brakes at the front, additional chassis bracing, upgraded steering, a torsen rear differential and sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires measuring 255/35/19 at the front and 275/35/19 at the rear. The RC F's dial also gets an addition Sport+ setting."

Interesting to see if one of these would back fit to the ST-185.

Not unless you convert to RWD and cut the guts out of the floorpan.

Yeah and I just realised that the most easy fit for an Automatic transmission that would fit perfectly is most likely the Tiptonic Caldina ST215W or ST246W.

My gearbox is ok for now - except that first gear is a bit high.

Thanks for making that point - I'll leave it the way it is for now but I'm not giving up on getting flappy paddles in the medium term.

Grab a steering wheel from a late model Camry with flappy paddles and shift normally.

When you get bored of that, put your old wheel back on and carry on.

That still works out cheaper than buying the Lexus.
