Yeah remember this also, apparently to send them over he had to cut them in half and you had to re-fibreglass them here. But if you're bringing in 5-6 of them he'll probably work out some better shipping

This is how I got my genuine grp A front bumper (this year 2015)

step 1: walked into a dealership

Step 2: told them some bs story how I was restoring a classic celica GT4 st185

Step 3: Give them the part number: 5211920926 and a VIN from a GRP A and pay $160

Step 4: wait around 2 weeks because its from japan the land of the rising sun

Step 5: pick it up

step 6: Paint it

step 7: Install

step 8: Make sweet love with the gf

step 9: watch people sell second hand grp A bumpers for double the price

step 10: watch fellow gt4 owners thinking of getting ripped off by after market suppliers

step 11: make an effort to help by tell them how I got mine

step 12: get ignored

step 13: be confused

(step 8 compulsory)

but in all seriousness that is what happened.

Yeh, may be fine for you. But that doesnt help if we aren't in the same state.

And as mentioned. You got well under the rrp. That said, noone here seems interested anyway, so who's not listening?

I'm gonna try your technique some time this week. I'm not fussy when it comes to other peoples girlfriends lol

If it does all fall over though - would you be willing to land another through racey Tracey for me, and put a sweet margin on it for yourself?

Well, perhaps there's a rift in the space time continuum, but even without making sweet luv to my gf whose 7 months up the duff, check out the order receipt below.

Supposedly it comes tomorrow. Its in the country. Had the guy double check its the cs bar and yep looks right. He confirmed the reo bar was discontinued.

The parts guy said "don't know why that's so cheap". I have heard of new "old" stock being unearthed and being made available.

At least I can confirm ST182ers formula is a goer right now so get in there if you want one. Also do as he suggests and take the part no. and I ripped a vin off a google image which help cross reference the part i.d. and availability.

I'll be sure to post a pic of this unicorn item when I've got it but so far so good!

I tried chasing one up today at the dealer around the corner.

The part # was for the standard front bar and not the Group A, and was $173 + GST

Here's what I un-rapped this arvo. And the parts guy new full well if he presented me with the 184 bumper cover, he would have been hurt with it.

My jdm is the old school vinyl type that looks a yellowy colour when rubbed back. This one is more like plastic. A poly-propylene I think. Might be genuine re-production.

I recall trying to source this on "Toyota parts on-line" and it would only bring up a price for the 184 cover. Maybe certain dealers only have access to certain data-basses - who knows? If you try Lander at Blacktown, at least one guy there will have it fresh in his mind. His initial is TH if that helps. They should be able to order it to your local dealer you would think, even if he can't source it himself.

Out of interest, I got the mesh in-fills priced - TO-5310420030 (you need 2) $62.29 each

                                                                       TO-5310120450                       $176.24

                                                                       TO-5310220030                       $209.01

Bloke said they are in Japan and would have to check availability.

For the sake of $500 odd bucks, I'm gonna improvise

If you can't win getting one after calling Lander, PM me and I'll go down and see whats doing

Unfortunately, as of December 2017 trying the same product code 5211920926 gets you the response "Unfortunately this part has been discontinued and no longer available through Toyota"

However online parts stores such as amayama etc. Still say they have it in stock?
A sign of hope considering there's currently a NOS cs bar on yahoo auctions going for $600+ and increasing by the hour!

Thats a crazy price for a front bumper, i got mine thru japan yahoo auctions (via ebay) for $400 posted and it took only a few days to arrive thru EMS !

I have a spare GRP.A bumper if u guys want to make a mold from it, maybe do a group run from a local fiberglass guy so wont be more than few hundred per bumper if enough ppl buy.

Also, thanks heaps for all the replies. I'm fast learning that this may be the friendliest forum on the internet.

I think that would be a very popular option, considering how hard and expensive it is to get those bumpers in Australia.

I check yahoo auctions daily, i wish there was one that cheap nowadays!
