Hey All,

Just wondering if you have any input on the issue i am having.

I had my celica in the shop and they put in a Boost Tee for me while it was there.

Since having the car back, when boosting, the car seems to reach full boost by 3500-4000rpm and then makes a weird jittering motion until i shift gear.

It seems to reach full boost very very quickly.

They said they put the car up to 10 psi but it doesnt feel hugely different imo.

I thought it could just be something thats not tightened correctly causing a leak but all the connections seem good.

Im thinking that it could the engine trying to fuel cut or something cause i still have the stock ECU in?

Just thought id ask to see if there is anything i can do to resolve the issue.

Thanks!

Take the T off and see if it's back to normal without it.

You can go from there then assume it's something in what they have done if it goes back to the way it was before.

Sounds a bit like fuel cut.

Shouldn't be getting fuel cut @ 10psi on stock ecu though. Do you have a boost gauge to show what it is hitting when cutting out?

I agree put it back to standard and see if it goes normally, retracing your steps is a good way to figure out what's going on. Maybe the boost tee is faulty a small fragment of metal from when it was made maybe floating around inside causing the problem.

nah mate i took it out recently cause it was playing up, might have to invest in a new one, on the stock gauge though its when its at the peak that it starts having real issues so somewhere around 6-10 psi im guessing

Stock gauge is crap so I hope you have a proper boost gauge. Otherwise your asking for trouble.

In Japan they sell a HKS fuel cut defender for the ST-185. I haven't tried one so don't know how good they are:
