ST184 gearbox into ST204?

Sorry if this info is available elsewhere; I did look.

The gearbox in my 204 isn't great. I have trouble shifting into 1st about half the time. And I have the (known to be good) gearbox from my dead St184 with a nearly new clutch in it just sitting there. They both have almost identical mileage on them. Swapping it into the 204 is a job I can do in a day at no cost.


So question; does anybody know what difference, if any, there is between a 1991 ST184 5sp manual box and a 1996 St204 5sp manual box? I saw some indication that the 5th gen box might have the Camry 5th gear that gives lower revs at highway speed? 


Any input appreciated.
