Hi guys, at the time I purchased my celica I could only get an auto but I've always driven a manual.

While there's nothing wrong with the auto, I was wondering how hard it would be to change it over to manual?

Has anyone done it? what parts are needed (gearbox and peddles obviously) just weighing up if I could do it or if I should just leave it as is

I've gone from Automatic Caldina Engine into Manual Celica.

The price of the Manual Cars is just so low it's just cheaper getting a Manual one and be done with it.

The conversion cost can be as much as $6,000.

If your doing all the work yourself (and its alot of work without a hoist and stuff) u would only be looking at the cost of parts which should be the cost of the box, clutch hard and soft lines, pedal box, master cylinder and fluids.

You also need to mess around with ECU wiring as the computer is looking for signals from the A/T to tell it what gear its in ect.

Also, thanks heaps for all the replies. I'm fast learning that this may be the friendliest forum on the internet.
