Ok, we need a bit of encouragement to get some drag racing happening. So here it is.

The Rules:
-All stated times must be followed up with a time slip, no time slip, no ranking.
-All cars are rated equally"Celica's ONLY'
-Leave some details on what mods you have done, so others can find out what they are missing in terms of performance.

When submitting your time, please have it in this format.
XX.XXX@XXXMPH X.XXX 60' :: NAME :: Generation Model Engine
So for example
11.111@111MPH 1.111 60' :: l33t :: 1st Gen RA11 1UZFE <--- something like that.

For image hosting, please use www.imageshack.us or similar to host timeslips.

Simple enough isn't it. So lets begin.

Great idea Lance!! Any chance N/A Models can also have a crack at it, as although I don't have a turbo I'm still very much in Drag Racing!

Perhaps 3 score boards an N/A one, GT4 one and an Total one? Or even just two to start with GT4 and N/A?

I shall update my best score here if thats cool!

Actually, we'll probably make it for the entire community. To see whos the quickest.

Turbo and Non-Turbo should just about cover it. What ya reckon?

Move it to General Car Chat, and i'll modify it to suit.

Topic has been moved to General Car Chat!

Lance by all means make some adjustments to your first post to reflect the changes and NA & Turbo sounds good to me. We must make sure that we put enough info if different gens are to be mixed, perhaps:

eg.

1. 10.7@123.9MPH - WaynO (5th Gen, 5S-FE)

^--- OK bad example perhaps Lance if you come up with a format for us all to follow! :chuckles: We can have this sort of thing on the website when its up too! :P

No you can't, thats for my next thread 'Most Powerful car on OzCelica'

This is drag racing, power has nothing to do with it... ok it does, but the driver and his car work as a whole to make it work.

Also, it should be noted what tyres you are using eg. street or slicks etc.

If we start doing that, then what do we stop at? 'running ecu, not running ecu'

Its fastest time, however way you do it.

What are you talking about? Its not a hard thing to mention, street or slick, simple.
Tyres make a big difference mate, a huge part of drag racing, definitely worth a mention. Im sure alot will agree.

Where do we stop? Mate, the list you provided is neverending, which is good imo. If you going to tell us what intake you have (which would have the smallest effect on drag time) it should be noted what tyres were used (which have a huge impact on drag time)

What tyres you run is a lttle different to "running ecu or not running ecu" :confuse: :P

FWD, RWD, AWD - they make large differences as well.
NOS, no NOS.
Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen3 3sgte/3sge.
Where do you stop?

The whole idea, is to get the best time possible. And the list what mods you used. In there you can also state what tires you were using as well. Might as well list what pressure you set the tires too..... etc.

The initial TOP TEN is just that, top ten times run by those on these boards.

If you decide to use slicks/semi slicks, thats your choice as to using them or not.

And 'intake mod having minimal affect in drag times' ANY performance mod will alter your drag time. Being small or not.

No, needs to be a proper time slip.

The unfortionate thing with the RSM is that it can bring in alot of variables. And nothing is better then proper timing gear.

Nope gotta be drag strip times, whole different ball game!

Weight reduction is also a big factor too so yeah the list is endless but so longs everyone writes up there list of specs when they ran the car I'm sure we can all get a good idea.

Running my again this Wednesday night with my added additions to see if I can improve a fraction of a second otherwise I'll just throw my last one which is the one I got an a 0.215 reaction time! :confuse:

I'l try and get a video up too along with my time sheet... now enough talk and lets get some times up ay!! :P

ahhh, street trim or drag trim is one of the most important factors in times.

defiantely include whether they're using slicks or street tyres, your rubber can make up to a second difference in your time, especially if you own a STXX5 launching hard on all 4's. extremely important variable.

i'll let ya's know how the MR2 goes just out of interest anyway. Wayno, what times have you pullled in the bad boy so far? i reckon it'd be a close run between a ST185 and a SW20.

When did i say that ? Quote from nowhere i think :ghey:

Glad to see you agree with me now mate.

Hopefully ill get a run out this spring sometime, both before and after the ECU install. So far the power meter id is reading 13.4s, but, as was mentioned, not official and no timeslip.

Any thoughts on an Ozcelica day at Western Sydney?
