The MR2 is a mate of mine. I also have vids of his runs.

His best time was 13.2 on the nite. The previous owner clocked a 12.1 on the setup.

I have a video of his runs here.

Where was the WRX?

Oh, that was a Liberty RS 2.5L AWD. I was surprised at how quick it was. Although not quick enough obviously (in that run, i blew a vacuum line halfway thru the run, i backed off considerably)

The MR2 is around 320rwhp.Mods consist of
-Unichip
-GT35R turbo + external wastegate and custom everything
-Fully rebuilt engine with forgies
-Fully rebuilt gearbox, with brass button clutch
-HKS Mushroom filter
-GReedy sidemount intercooler + blitz BOV
-Running 205-50-16 Street Tires (i think dunlops from memory - 20PSI)

My mate hasn't learnt to drive it yet, wasn't getting a very good launch. Next time we head out, his going to let me hammer it down the strip. I should get it into the 12's for him.

haha, not quick enough indeed, he got chopped hard, very decent effort tho.

yeh that SW20 would boot, get back to us if you manage to pull 12's with your driving.

slicks and it'd pull high 11's easy.

love it, no rice aswell.

No rice you say, you should have a look at the $5k white leather interior and the audio package :chuckles:

The body kit is nice and suttle, if thats what you mean. It originally had 18" chromies on it. The Silvia wheels suit it much better though. I'm a fan.

13.525@99.44mph(160.03kph), 1.965 60', Clint's ST205 with 3SGTE

Car endured a thorough preparation for the night - I walked to the garage, pulled the cover off and drove down there! I still haven't checked the timing since I installed the driveline, the old air filter currently in the airbox is hiddeously dirty and needs replacing, and the 225/35/18 Nankangs have absolutely no sidewall. Having said all that, everything hooked up remarkably well. I was late on the launch for the first couple of runs, but finally started leaving on the last amber towards the ends of the night - only to "break out" in reaction time - the car just grips it and rips it, so I will have to delay my start process till after the last amber for next time. Car was in full street trim, full tank of fuel, fuel air pressure in the tyres. Never felt anything slip once during the night, probabaly left the line with around 3000rpm, and building boost (new package that I was feeling my way around). Specs for the car basically are:

Standard ST205 with standard 3SGTE
Standard 10psi boost
Custom made dump pipe with seperate wastegate runner (made by me)
3" mandrel bent exhaust with high flow Cat (by "Reo") and straight through muffler at the back.

Yep got plenty of slips, but no scanner. won't bother running the 205 again, it's now for sale. Next time will be the 185 with lots of little power tweaks, so I have something to aim for now!

ok i finialy scaned my old as times from back in early feburary of this year...it was a stinker of a night (HOT) and a huge strom came in and stop the night half way in!

my best time was the 2nd run out of the 3 i did and this for my first time draging....

my only mods was a K&N podfilter and 12psi stocko everything else.
it is a 2nd gen 3s-gte (from a JDM st185) in a st162 with a sv21 camry box....the ratio were tall as so accelertion not that good now have a the short ratio box and it much better...

15.799 @ 90.18 MPH (145.13Km/h) 60foot time was a 2.521 (very shit)

my mine problem was tration....blad front tyres with 40psi in them (my street/ circuit presure for going fast up and down my mountain) had some traction in 1st but no much and half of second just fried.....

the time slips are here

Ok finally got my time slip online now, best I can manage so far is:

16.712@81.66MPH 2.709 60' :: WAYNOFX :: 5th Gen ST184 5S-FE

Ive got my takeoffs and gear changes pretty much perfected only thing is I'm getting WAY to much wheel spin! If I can sort that out I reckon I could shave some of it off otherwise I think thats about all the 5S-FE has in it!

Time to borrow the mrs car now! :o

Richard: Whats the go with these, do people have to race there OWN car or are they allowed to let someone else try and still get there time up here?

-----

MODS
Stock 5SFE (215,000Km)
Blitz SUS Power Intake
Genie 4-2-1 Extractors
2 1/4" Dual Cannon System
215/40/17 Firestone Firehawks (35psi)

the 5sfe might even be faster then the 3sge, due to the 5sfe making more torque.

wouldn't that be a shock.

richard i don't think so since i had the rear half of my exhuast redone the car feels like it has just as much if not more torque then i had with the old engine, i had the rear end of the exhaust taken down to 2" to take some of the noise out of it, along with less resinators and a unbody muffler put in.
